4 Ways To Protect Your Home From Germs

Posted by Kelsey Johnson on 21st Mar 2020

This season has definitely been a time for paranoia for many, which is very understandable. We all want to protect ourselves and our loved ones from scary germs! When we go in public we normally take certain precautions in order to hopefully not get sick, but what can we do to protect our own homes?? Thankfully there are steps you can take to create a safer, healthier environment to prevent viruses from contaminating your house!

1. Ventilation. Provide enough air circulation to help keep viruses out. Research has shown that air flow and ventilation can affect how sickness spreads throughout the air, and the more stagnant the air is, the more likely it is for diseases to spread - The American Lung Association.

2. Basic health practices. Like washing your hands frequently, cover your mouth when coughing and sneezing, not sharing utensils, and not touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands can help prevent the spread of germs.

3. Clean/Sanitize. The Flu virus can live on surfaces for up to 24 hours. Some studies have shown this number to be up to 48 hours. Flu viruses outside of living cells are relatively fragile so cleaning and disinfecting surfaces is enough to remove them. It is really important to use disinfectant wipes on electronic devices like computers and cell phones.

4. Wash linen frequently. You may want to wash linen like bedding and towels often to get rid of germs.

This season the CDC expects an elevated level of flu activity to continue for weeks. Please take caution, and be aware of ways each of us can do our part to help stop the spread of these terrible viruses that are affecting so many.

If you do get sick, check out DAYSPA Body Basic’s Sick Season products. I am telling you they are AMAZING!!! I don't know what I would do without them! I especially appreciate how much they help my little ones when they are sick. The Herbal Mist and the Herbal Balm or Cold Stick are definite must-haves in my house!

Since we all need to wash our hands frequently it's nice to have a soap we love and trust.  That is why I love using DAYSPA Body Basics all natural liquid soap. It comes in amazing scents that naturally help keep moisture in. Nevertheless, I know that when I wash my hands a lot, sadly, I do get dry skin.  Even when washing with the best soap!  That's why I use DAYSPA Body Basics all natural body lotion or in severe cases I use Calendula Butter Hand Balm along with the liquid soap.

For those times we have to be in public, especially high traffic areas, we need to take certain precautions.  Check out our blog on, "Sick Season - Five Places Swarming With Germs."  It gives good advice on ways we can protect ourselves in public. As always, stay safe and healthy!
