Why We Love The Sweet Smell Of Jasmine

Why We Love The Sweet Smell Of Jasmine

Posted by Kelsey Johnson on 26th Jun 2020

Let's talk about the jasmine flower. It has been described as exotic, mystifying, mesmerizing and sensual. Jasmine has been desired around the world. Throughout history royals from Egypt, China, Afghanistan, Nepal and Persia were said to have kept jasmine flowers in their royal gardens. This is not surprising at all because this flower is so intoxicating that both men and woman are seduced by its “sweet” charm.

Throughout my life, the only experience I had with jasmine was in tea, which I really like. I love the sweet, flowery flavor and appreciate the calmness that I experience when I drink it. Our sweet jasmine scent is a fairly new addition to our treasure chest of amazing products. Now that I am a mom, I have an even greater appreciation for a little peace and quiet and our bath blasts end up being just what I need. My absolute favorite scent is our sweet jasmine. I dim the lights, light my candles, start the hot water and drop in the jasmine bath blast. It only takes a few seconds before you are enveloped in the sweet aromatic jasmine smell. If you enjoy baths, and just need to relax, try our bath blasts. These bath blasts pamper your skin, leaving it smooth, and smelling amazing! How do they do this? They are made up of all natural ingredients including essential oils and coconut oil. Coconut oil is an intense moisturizer, soothing dry skin by coating it in a non-greasy layer of lightweight protection. In fact, studies have shown that coconut oil is a superior oil moisturizer. So you can enjoy delightfully soft skin, with no oily residue.

Interestingly, jasmine has been believed to posses many benefits for our mental state and skin. The oil derived from the jasmine flower is said to restore the moisture and elasticity of skin. Jasmine oil is known as “The king of essential oils.” Unlike other essential oils, floral oils like jasmine are very expensive. The only part of the plant harvested is the flower. Jasmine flowers are small, delicate and begin to lose their aroma as soon as they are picked. Depending on the variety, the buds or flowers are picked by hand at night or first thing in the morning. It can require as many as 8,000 flowers to make one gram of essential oil. A talented picker can pick 10,000–15,000 flowers per night. These freshly-picked gems are rushed to processing to retain as much of the valuable essence as possible. All of these factors make jasmine oil one of the most costly of essential oils.
